First 30

Courseware with a Career Focus

Client:

First 30

Agency:

Freelance

Roles:

Art Direction, Concept, Branding, UX, Logo & Icon Design

First 30 is a courseware platform that focuses on career-related education. I was commissioned to do the branding, web design and User Experience work for the app and promotion site.

I developed the "laurel" logo, and a visual system that utilizes implied motion and mapping, all the while balancing the look and feel between being serious enough for the courseware content (for example, this can be used for people that had recently lost employment) and keeping things upbeat and fun looking to remain optimistic.

ABOUT ME

Hi I'm James. I work mainly as an art director in graphic design.
If I had to say what is best about my approach, it would be the curiosity that drives me to do new things and the tenacity to make things I know how to do better. This has led me into many other aspects of creative, such as strategy, motion, illustration, front end development, key art &  music underscore composition.
As a result, I work very well with people from other related disciplines, and can function as a source of cohesion between groups.
